I’ve been involved in a crash and was told Jenks is on “Slick Streets”; what does that mean?

During an ice or snow accumulation event, when the number of traffic collisions increases sharply over a short amount of time, the Jenks Police Department may periodically activate “Slick Streets” which allows responding officers to focus on collisions blocking the roadway or that involve injuries. If you are involved in a collision, with no major damage or injuries, and the vehicles can be moved from the roadway, go ahead and call the Jenks Police Department, the dispatcher will advise if an officer is able to respond or not - if an officer is unable to respond you will need to exchange information with the other vehicle:

  • Contact
  • Insurance
  • Passenger information
  • Tag
  • Vehicle

You will then pick up an exchange of information form (also referred to as a white sheet) from one of the Jenks QuikTrips or Kum and Gos, or from the Jenks Police Department; complete the form and follow the instructions on the form. Just as a reminder, Officers will always respond to the scene of collisions involving an injury, or when there is major damage and roadway is blocked, regardless of the weather condition. If you have any questions regarding “Slick Streets” call 918-299-6311 to get more information.
