Downtown Commons park opens in Jenks
Site connects the high school with town’s Main Street
JENKS — City and Jenks Public Schools officials held a ribbon cutting and community festival on Saturday to celebrate the opening of the Downtown Commons park.
Festivities included live music, food trucks, lawn games and kids’ activities.
Officials say the Downtown Commons park at 220 E. A St. serves to connect Jenks High School with the town’s Main Street. It includes a stage, green space, public restrooms and parking.
The park is intended to be a place for social and cultural exchange, Jenks School Board President Melissa Abdo said.
Construction on the park began in September and received $1.1 million through Tulsa County Vision 2025 funds.
