Job Description: Responsible for emergency medical, firefighting, rescue, hazardous materials, and other related services. Operates in emergency and non-emergency situations; must be able to perform duties rapidly, efficiently & safely. Work also includes prevention of fires, public education, and routine maintenance of emergency vehicles, equipment, and fire department facilities.

| Job Description: |
Under direction of superior officer, performs responsible police work in a professional manner to protect life and property through the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Work involves various shifts, extended hours, holidays and weekends. Work has an element of personal danger.
Duties include:
- Patroling designated areas of the City in a patrol car to preserve peace, law, and order, in the prevention and discovery of crimes and enforcementt of traffic regulations.
- Answering calls and complaints related to traffic accidents, robberies, and other misdemeanor and felonies and takes necessary police action
- Making arrests.
- Performs related duties as assigned and required.

| Qualifications: |
Education – Graduation from high school or its equivalent and sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited college or university; age twenty-one (21) years or older.
License and/or Certificate – Valid Oklahoma drivers license/ CLEET certification or be certified by CLEET within six (6) months of employment; bondable; and maintain required certifications related to position of Police Officer; and submit to a physical and psychological examination as provided by State statue and/or City ordinance.
Requisite Knowledge & Skill Levels – Operating & maintaining use of firearms, police radio, & equipment; operating motor vehicle; establishing & maintaining effective relationships with other City personnel, officials, and general public.
Special Requirements – Must meet requirements for Oklahoma Police Pension; Valid Oklahoma Drivers License with driving record free from serious or frequent violations; and no felony or major misdemeanor convictions. Unique mental stresses associated with police operation demands may be present. |
